Nothing feels better than having a dip in the ocean and the salty look and feel of beach hair. Relaxed and natural, the beach look is trending with loose, soft, textured hair styles in.

What the hell is Sea Salt Texture Spray?

Designed to replicate that salty beach texture and feeling you get after getting out of the surf, giving you a light hold and matte finish.  Sea Salt Texture sprays are easy to use hair styling product that can be versatile across all types and styles of hair. The are great for curly, wavy hair and can create light weight choppines in short and straight hair. Sea Salt Texture Spray also add volume and texture as they are usually light in hold and down weigh the hair down. Unlike pomades, clays or creams, sea salt texture spray allows your hair to be soft and free flowing for that super laid back look.

Won't salt dry out my hair?

There are a ton of sea salt hair products on the market. At the high-end is The Bearded Chap Sea Salt Texture Spray, which is packed only with ingredients that have function and deliver performance - such as natural glycerin; at the low-end are the cheap and nasty ones packed full of beguiling marketing ingredients - but devoid of any ingredients that actually work.  Low quality sea salt texture hair sprays can dry your hair out.  High quality version will add moisturising ingredients to ensure your hair and scalp do not dry out.

How to use Sea Salt Texture Spray?

Sea Salt Texture Spray can be used as a stand alone product, to add volume and a gritty texture without the crunch of normal hair products. Alternatively, use it as a pre-styling product before blow drying to help set hair for further sculpting. A super versatile hair product that offers a care free, textured and voluminous look along with a light hold and matte finish. Suitable for all hair types. There are two main ways to apply and style your hair with sea salt texture spray.

  1. The first way to use is to apply 10-20 pumps of Sea Salt Texture Spray to your hair while it's wet. Scrunching your hair to give it some texture and volume if you have curly hair or scruffing with your hand if you have short/ straight hair. Allowing your hair to dry naturally with the sea salt texture spray in your hair will give you that loose, natural beach look, just like you jumped out of the surf. This is the care free easy method to use sea salt texture spray.
  2. Looking for extra volume and texture or mega wavy or curly hair? Apply 10-20 pumps to dry hair or use a blow dryer with a diffuser to let the sea salt texture spray perform its best, scrunching for mega curls or waves and roughing up for straight hair to give that messy textured look.

Let's take a bit more of an indepth look at The Bearded Chap Sea Salt Texture Spray.

What does Sea Salt Texture Spray Do?

The Bearded Chap Sea Salt Texture Spray does four things incredibly well.

  1. Sea Salt Texture Spray adds instant volume and texture to your hair.
  2. Sea Salt Texture Spray help amplify natural curls and waves in your hair.
  3. Sea Salt Texture Spray helps stop fly aways and add gritty light hold for easy styling.
  4. Sea Salt Texture Spray includes natural ingredients & minerals that ensure you get performance out of our sea salt texture spray.

Let's explore these in a little more detail.

Sea Salt Texture Spray adds instant volume and texture to your hair.  Most sea salt texture sprays rely on salt to add some grittiness to the hair, but it is generally not enough to give much texture or volumes at all.  The Bearded Chap Sea Salt Texture spray goes one step further with our proprietary blend called SaltGrit, which we'll explain in more depth shortly.  The gritty feel that you experience provides texture , just like you were at the beach, but the ability to style it as you want with a natural matte finish.

Sea Salt Texture Spray help amplify natural curls and waves in your hair. There are a variety of different hair types. These can be easily broken down into categories of texture, density and wave/curl.  Breaking it down more easily we have:

  1. Straight hair
  2. Wavy hair
  3. Curly hair
  4. Afro hair

In The Bearded Chap Sea Salt Texture Spray, our special SaltGrit formula adds that special grit coating to the hair shafts. This special coating provides structure and support to the hair shaft allowing it to stand up on its own giving texture and volume, but not too much structure, which allows the hair to bend naturally giving you that soft natural look, and free flowing feel. This also allows the curls to lock into their natural pattern or be set by you through scrunching or blow drying to add heat, locking it into place.

This curl-enhancing effect tends to work best for those with types 2, 3, and 4, however you can get some good volumes for those who have type 1 (especially those loose pomps).

Is Sea Salt Texture Spray bad for your hair?

There is no evidence or findings that suggest salt is bad for your hair. Some cheap and nasty sea salt texture spray will dry your hair out, but this can be countered by using a good conditioner.

Is it ok to use Sea Salt Texture Spray every day?

There is no evidence or findings that suggest salt is bad for your hair if using daily. It really depends on your style and how your hair responds. If you are prone to a dry scalp, then test and make an assessment if your scalp and hair is becoming too dry. Hair types with higher oil content generally won't have any issues with use everyday.

We still recommend you should give your hair a thorough rinse and conditioning between uses of any sea salt texture spray.

Can you use Sea Salt Texture Spray in your Beard?

You absolutely can! Depending on if you have a curly or straight beard, it will enhance the curls and texture of your beard hair and will stop fly aways on both curly and straight beards. Just make sure your mouth is closed, so you don't cop a salty load (of sea salt texture spray) to the mouth. If using The Bearded Chap Sea Salt Texture Spray to add volume and texture to your beard, we would suggest daily use of beard oil and beard balm to stop dryness or beardruff occuring while keep it hydrated and nourished.
