Throwback to classic oil based pomades of yesteryear, The Bearded Chap's Traditional Pomade delivers that classic look on every level.

Our Traditional Pomade gives you a pliable medium hold & medium sheen, that can be easily reworked throughout the day. We created complex combination of natural ingredients, including Argan Oil, Silk Powder, Manuka Honey and beeswax to help nourish and hold your hair during use. Our Traditional Pomade nourishes hair while adding medium hold and a semi-sheen finish for those traditional classic hairstyles.

Made using our proprietary formula process that makes our Traditional hair Pomade an oil based, however water soluble like water based pomades, so it washes off your hands with ease.

Frequently Asked Questions

What does pomade do to your hair?

Pomade does great things to your hair! It gives your hair a light coating and firm hold, enough to hold your hair in place, but not so heavy that you can’t restyle throughout the day once applied. Some pomades have a shiny finish, whereas a clay pomade will give a more natural, matte effect. Those who are looking for a strong hold can try hair gels.

One little-known secret - a little pomade can also be used as a pre styler with light hold so you can slick back those side parts while keeping your look natural.

Is pomade better than clay?

Whether or not pomade is better than clay depends on you, your style, your preference for hair products, and most importantly your hair type. If you have very fine hair or straight hair, or prefer a more natural finish, you may prefer clay, but for more control and shine, or for a combed style, pomade may work better. A matte finish pomade would offer the best of both worlds!

When should you put pomade in your hair?

You should put pomade in your hair anytime you are looking for a defined, classic combed look, or if you just need a little more control. A good pomade made from natural ingredients will actually help nourish your hair and scalp, so there is no upper limit to how often you can use pomade hair products. It will depend on your hair. Dry hair in particular will benefit from regular pomade use as oil based pomades help hydrate hair like a hair oil.

Is it OK to leave pomade in your hair overnight?

It is best to avoid leaving pomade in your hair overnight if possible. However, if you do leave it in overnight, it’s unlikely to have a big negative effect. Oil based pomades may even nourish your hair overnight. Hair wax on the other hand tends to dry up and leave your hair stiff.

Is it ok to use pomade everyday?

It is ok to use styling products like pomade every day, especially if it is made from natural ingredients. Using it too much could dry your hair out if you are prone to this, or conversely make it greasy if your hair is naturally oily. Regular washing and conditioning will help too, but you may want to use pomade less often if you notice these things.

What is the best hair pomade?

The best pomade will:

  • Give you control.
  • Keep your hair looking healthy.
  • Act as great hair styling products.
  • Give your hair shine.
  • Allow you to rework your hair through the day unlike hair wax or hair gel.
  • Nourish your hair, scalp and roots.
  • Not make your hair appear greasy.
  • Be made from natural ingredients.

How do you apply hair pomade?

Here’s how to apply pomade to your hair:

  1. Wash your hair.
  2. Dry lightly with a towel or blow dryer, so your hair remains slightly damp.
  3. This allows the pomade to mix into your hair.
  4. Work a dime sized amount of pomade over your fingers.
  5. Work through your hair with your fingers, starting from the back.
  6. Style as you wish - remember that pomade works best for combed styles.

How much hair pomade should i use?

How much pomade you should use on hair depends on your style, but as a rule a dime sized amount should be enough. Work it across your fingers and palms evenly, and apply through your hair. If this isn’t enough, you can always apply more - a little pomade goes a long way though.
